PROGRAMS
Except during July and August, BREAKFAST MEETINGS, with guest speakers, are help on a regular basis to afford the General Membership an opportunity to become involved in their organization and meet with fellow members. The WBA invites speakers who will be of most interest to our membership, generally people in the public spotlight, city and state officials and businesspersons
people who are in a position to keep the business community informed on important current issues and events.
The WBA ANNUAL MEETING, which includes the Board of Directors Installation of Officers, is held in the fall of each year. This event usually takes place during a breakfast or a luncheon and is highlighted by the presence of a major speaker or celebrity.
NETWORKING GATHERINGS take place frequently, after hours, for the convenience of our members and their guest, to allow them to conduct business and socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. Networking Gatherings are held at our member hotels, restaurants, and companies who have the space, at their request. A brief portion of each network gathering is devoted to a short presentation delivered by a WBA Company representative. This practice gives one of our members a chance to explain his or her product or service to those assembled. The name of the company chosen is picked at random prior to the event. Non members are welcome to attend our gatherings and all are encouraged to bring business cards and brochures for our display table. Networking Gatherings are free of charge.
PUBLIC FORUMS AND DEBATES take place at election time to provide the voting public with the opportunity to learn where local and state candidates stand on vital issues of concern. Arranged by the WBA Business/Government Relations Committee, these events are an important source of information to the business community and the public at large.
Annual Dues are the major source of income for the WBA a non-profit organization and are utilized for in office expenses and WBA communication through mailings, meetings, etc.
Any time that you can spare will ensure that your Voice is heard. Your expertise can assist us in making our community a better place in which to work and live.
